Does Cambridge Analytica Have Your Information?

Unless you have been living under a rock for the last few weeks, many are aware that there was an exploitation of  user information from Facebook by a third party vendor, Cambridge Analytica. Facebook has quickly responded, taking responsibility for this situation and is now testifying on Capital Hill regarding the situation.

Since suspending Cambridge Analytica for exploiting user data, Facebook been on constant crisis-control for its negligent management of user information. In addition to giving users a quick way to check if their information was scraped by the analytics firm, the site has launched a data abuse bounty program to report app developers who may be misusing data.

Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Facebook took to the defense of Facebook in this post:

How Do I Know If My Data Was Stolen?

Facebook has pinned a notification to the top of the mobile app and on the desktop version for users to see and determine if their content may have been affected. B sure to use this information to search and see if you used the “Digital Life” App or if a friend has. It may come as shocking, but it is likely that your information has been affected.
